The Clos des Epeneaux is among the ten largest monopolies in premier cru or grand cru of the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, with a unique geology compared to its neighbors. The wines it produces are known for their combination of power and finesse, showcasing the best of Pinot Noir, along with characteristic spicy notes. Vinification involves 100% destemming but non-crushing to preserve whole berries, followed by a three-phase maceration process lasting around 4 weeks to achieve a stable and harmonious structure. Aging occurs for 18 to 24 months in oak barrels, with 30% new oak for the old vines of the Clos des Epeneaux.
