Tyrrell’s is a pioneer of the Hunter Valley and continues to set the benchmark for the region. The 2006 Vat 47 Chardonnay is primarily sourced from the Short Flat and HVD vineyards. It undergoes barrel fermentation in one-third of new oak without malolactic fermentation, with some batonnage. This Chardonnay presents intense aromas of toasted tropical notes, pineapple, poached apricots, and warm grapefruit. Medium-bodied, it is crisp, fresh, with a touch of silky richness and a long finish.

Tyrrell’s Wines, Semillon Vat 1 2006
The 2006 Vat 1 Semillon is alive and kinetic in texture. This is complex and vital. A marvelous wine. All things tight and glorious here, you get lemongrass, brine, grated apple peel, jasmine tea, almond meal, citrus oil, lemon verbena, thyme. Suffice to say, this is sensational. It has a resonant vibration at its very core.

Yabby Lake Vineyard, Chardonnay Block 6 Single Block Release 2010
The 2010 Chardonnay Block 6 gives an abundance of lemon, lime and grapefruit zest aromas, with some underlying talc, orange blossom, toast and roasted nut notes plus a touch of funk. Crisp, tight, medium bodied and long in the finish with the citrus freshness adding lift to the yeastiness, this is already a nicely balanced Chardonnay that should only get better.
